The CSU Extension in Gilpin County helps mountain residents improve their quality of life by offering a website, classes and programs that provide unbiased, research-based information on forestry, wildfire, wildlife, mountain gardening, noxious weeds and many other issues. Through our 4-H programs, we help youth develop life skills through leadership opportunities.

We are located next to the Gilpin Community Center, off HWY 46.

Directions: Coming from the North, head South on 119 (approx 15 miles South of Nederland). Turn left (East) when you come to the intersection with hwy 46 (there is also a sign for the Justice Center and Golden Gate Canyon State Park). Drive approx 1 mile and turn right onto Norton Drive (across from the Dory Hill campground). Park in the same parking lot as the Gilpin Community Center – the Extension office is the building without the flag.

Coming from the South: Drive North on 119 approx. 7 miles past Black Hawk. Turn right at the intersection with hwy 46 (there is also a sign for the Justice Center and Golden Gate Canyon State Park). Drive approx 1 mile and turn right onto Norton Drive (across from the Dory Hill campground).

Coming from the East: Drive West on Hwy 46 (Golden Gate Canyon Road) approx 4 miles past the Golden Gate Canyon State Park visitor center. Turn left onto Norton Drive. (If you hit Hwy 119, you’ve gone too far). Park in the same parking lot as the Gilpin Community Center – the Extension office is the barn like building.
